Why Women's Money Guilt Started in 1974
The wellness creator space is moving faster than ever, and if you're not paying attention to the shifts happening right now, you might miss your moment. We're talking about new income streams that are replacing old affiliate models, health trends that are taking over your clients' feeds, cultural movements that explain why your audience craves what they crave, and platforms that could change how people discover you online. Oh, and we're ending with a money story that might just reframe everything you thought you knew about building wealth as a woman. Let's get into it.
The Creator Economy Just Got a Storefront
Something interesting is happening in the influencer world, and it's not just for beauty gurus anymore. Sephora recently launched a feature called My Sephora Storefront, which gives creators their own digital shop right inside Sephora's platform. Think of it as affiliate marketing 2.0, except instead of just dropping links here and there, creators are now curating entire boutiques.
Another platform called Vet, created by Conde Nast, is doing something similar. Industry experts are projecting the creator economy will hit 500 billion dollars (yes, with a B) by 2027. And here's the thing: this isn't just happening in the beauty space. This applies directly to you as a wellness creator.
People already trust your opinions and your recommendations. If you've built a community that looks to you for guidance on feeling good, moving their body, or setting intentions, they're ready to buy what you recommend. The difference now is that the infrastructure exists to make this seamless.
You don't need to launch your own skincare line. But could you have a shop page featuring your favorite yoga mat, blocks, teas, books, or essential oils? The reality is, you're already influencing. Now you can actually get paid like it.
Unlike traditional affiliate links where you market every single thing individually, storefronts let people browse your curated collection. It's about you as a whole person, your values and what you stand for. If you have a devoted following, even if it's small, you can make money from talking about things you already love. People are already asking where you got that tank top or what your skincare routine is. You might as well benefit.
Fiber Maxing Is Taking Over TikTok
Now for something a little weirder. Fiber maxing. It's the latest gut health trend blowing up on TikTok, and yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. People are massively increasing their fiber intake, sometimes to 40 or even 70 grams per day, using psyllium husk, chia seeds, beans, and all kinds of other high-fiber foods.
They're doing it for blood sugar balance, better digestion, clear skin, and even hormone support, like helping drain excess estrogen out of the body. Some creators are calling it the clean girl secret weapon, which is... a lot. But here we are.
Is it a little extreme? Maybe. For people with certain digestive issues, this is obviously something you'd want to talk to your doctor about before trying. But the broader conversation around gut health, hormones, and glucose regulation (think Glucose Goddess and similar influencers) is only getting louder. Your clients are probably paying attention to this if they're on TikTok or spending any time on the internet.
This is an incredible opportunity to show up as a voice of reason and education. If you have any background in health coaching or nutrition, lean into this trend. Even if you're not a specialist, you can use it as content. Should I be fiber maxing? It's a great opportunity for a reel or newsletter with a provocative term people are actively searching for.
Your clients are watching these videos and wondering if they should try it. Even if a trend seems ridiculous or over the top, you need to be aware of it. If you're not part of that conversation, someone else will be. These trending moments create windows of opportunity where you become discoverable in ways that are harder to achieve with evergreen topics.
Your Clients Are Craving Slow, Analog Rituals
Here's a trend that might feel more aligned with what you're already doing: the analog ritual movement. We're seeing a cultural shift away from quick fixes and instant gratification toward slower, more intentional practices. Think journaling with an actual pen and paper. Brewing tea with a ceramic pot instead of microwaving water. Lighting candles instead of using a timer on your phone.
This isn't nostalgia for its own sake. People are overwhelmed. They're overstimulated. They're tired of algorithms and notifications and the constant demand for their attention. Analog rituals offer something different: presence, intention, and a sense of control in a world that often feels chaotic.
If you're a wellness creator, this is your lane. People aren't just looking for another productivity hack. They're looking for permission to slow down, for rituals that feel meaningful, for practices that create space instead of filling it. This shows up in content consumption too. Long-form content is making a comeback. People are listening to full podcast episodes and reading newsletters instead of skimming captions.
Reddit Might Be Your Next Discovery Channel
Let's talk about Reddit for a minute, because something important is happening there. Reddit is hosting a free forum in November 2025 specifically for small business owners and content creators to learn how to use the platform for organic visibility. If you've been sleeping on Reddit, this might be the wake-up call you need.
Here's why Reddit matters: it's becoming increasingly important in a world of AI-driven search results. When someone asks an AI tool for recommendations (I'm looking for a Pilates teacher who specializes in hormone-related issues and perimenopause), having your brand or name mentioned on Reddit can be a huge advantage. It's a way to be found beyond traditional Google searches.
Reddit rewards niche expertise. Questions are welcome. Real conversation, not polished perfection, is what performs. If you've got a unique point of view on gut health, movement, hormones, or healing, Reddit might be worth exploring.
The caveat: Reddit can be tough. People use anonymous handles and can be mean to each other. That's part of developing a thick skin on the internet. But content is getting scraped by AI search tools, so it's worth understanding how Reddit works. The November forum might help you make an informed decision about whether to use it.
Fifty Years Ago, Women Couldn't Get a Mortgage
We've talked about this before in our work, but it's a moment worth sitting with again, especially as we head toward the end of 2025. Fifty years ago, in both Canada and the US, women couldn't get a mortgage or even open a credit card without a man's signature. Essentially, a man's permission.
In 1974, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act was passed in the US, and similar policy shifts were happening in Canada. Before that, a bank could legally deny you a mortgage based on the fact that you were unmarried, divorced, or simply female. Let that sink in for a second.
Our mothers and grandmothers, even if they had an income, even if they had discipline and a dream, still needed a husband or a father or some other man to co-sign on their independence. And here we are now, running online businesses, building recurring revenue, investing in property, buying land, owning assets, generating wealth on our own terms. This transformation happened in one generation.
So why do so many of us still feel like we don't know enough about money or feel guilty about wanting more? This 50-year mark reminds us that this is the first time in history women have had this kind of financial autonomy. It's still new. We're figuring it out as we go, and there are gaps in what we were taught.
It's okay to want the house, the savings, the investment account, whatever your heart desires. If you're building something online, whether it's a yoga membership, a coaching program, or a nutrition business, you are part of this lineage of women reclaiming power, not just energetically, but financially.
If you're struggling with money questions, give yourself a break. Men have had generations of knowledge passed down about investing and wealth. Women were taught to stretch budgets and clip coupons. Of course we have to learn this. But keep going. You're out there making your own money, and you're not just participating in the first generation of women with financial autonomy. You're also building businesses on the internet, creating income that isn't tied to a location or a boss's approval. That's worth feeling proud of.
What This All Means for You
We covered a lot here, from creator storefronts to fiber trends to Reddit strategies to financial autonomy. The thread that ties it all together: the wellness creator space is evolving fast, and the opportunities available right now are different than they were even a year ago.
You can monetize your influence in new ways. You can position yourself on trending topics. You can meet your audience's desire for meaningful content. You can get discovered through unexpected platforms. And you can build wealth in ways previous generations of women couldn't dream of.
The creators who thrive aren't necessarily the ones with the biggest followings. They're the ones who stay curious, adapt quickly, and keep showing up. If something here landed for you, take one action this week. You're doing something big. Keep going.
